Caribou Island Lighthouse
Caribou Island lighthouse - shown above in website header* - in Lake Superior is one of Canada's most remote and beautiful structures of its kind in the country. Grandparents Art and Mary Hurley and
their children have a shared history with Caribou Island.
Family military history
On the other side of the family, there's a shared history with World War II. Grandparents Henry and Mildred Osborne spent difficult days on their farm in Echo Bay, Ontario near Sault Ste. Marie,
worrying about their children and their spouses who were in various branches of military service. Art and Mary Hurley also worried about their family and friends off at war.

Sault Ste. Marie broadcasting
Broadcasting, the way is was, was preserved from time to time by the Old Time Radio Players as a tribute to The Golden Age of Radio and to local and area broadcasters now in 'Sky Studio'. This group
read scripts from the 1940s-1950s radio era and staged how radio actors presented their roles. The productions were enjoyed at many local and area nursing and retirement homes.
